‘CALGARY’S BEST OVERALL RESTAURANT’
2008 Avenue Magazine’s 5th Annual Restaurant and Food Awards. Published in March 2008: “A picturesque park setting, relaxed ambiance and wholesome seasonal Canadian cuisine respectfully gathered from the land and thoughtfully conceived in the kitchen, creating not just an excellent meal, but a fond memory” (dee Hobsbawn Smith). We also took top honors in the ‘Worth the Splurge’, ‘Best Patio’, ‘Most Romantic’, and ‘Best Wine List’.

WINE SPECTATOR
River Café was also honored to be included in Matt Kramer’s column in Wine Spectator (May 15, 2008 issue). “You need only dine at River Café, designed to look like a fishing lodge, on an island in the middle of the Bow River on the outskirts of Calgary’s downtown. The food is determinedly local, supplied by the restaurant’s own garden, and the wine list won a Wine Spectator Best of Award of Excellence last year" (Matt Kramer).
