Northwest Mounted Police Barracks Provincial Historic Site

The 1893 building was built as a response to early Canmore's law and order problems (mostly bootlegging). Visit the restored mud-chinked log barracks with historic furnishings, heritage garden and tea room. GST-free gift shop. Sat-Sun 1-4 pm; June-Aug Wed-Sun 10 am-6 pm and Mon-Tues 1-4 pm, depending on volunteer availability. By donation.
