This museum is located on the waterfront and incorporates the heritage building known as the William Robertson & Son Ship Chandlery and A.M. Smith and Co. The Museum displays the nautical and marine history of Atlantic Canada. Major exhibits include Titanic: The Unsinkable Ship and Halifax; Shipwreck Treasures of Nova Scotia; Halifax Wrecked: The Story of the Halifax Explosion and North Atlantic Convoys. Also features galleries on Days of Sail, Small Craft, plus the former hydrographic ship CSS Acadia, built in 1913, and a lens from North America’s oldest operating lighthouse. Gift shop on premises. Visit takes approximately 90 minutes. Open daily until October 31; closed Monday during the off-season. Admission charged.
