Central Experimental Farm

Founded in 1886, the farm’s land stretches for several hundred acres west of downtown and is designated for agricultural research. Laboratories manage experiments that involve everything from wheat to insects. The Arboretum occupies 63 acres which contain 2,400 varieties of trees and shrubs. Also on site: the Fletcher Wildlife Garden, a greenhouse, and the Ornamental Gardens. Open year-round.
