CABBAGETOWN

Skirting the eastern edge of downtown, the area was originally inhabited by Irish immigrants and gained its nickname from the neighbourhood’s most popular garden vegetable. Today, the area’s many restored houses are home to members of the arts community and people of various cultural backgrounds. East of Sherbourne Street, between Wellesley and Dundas streets. From the College subway stop, take the Carlton Street streetcar east to Parliament Street.
