DOWNTOWN YONGE

The world’s longest street boasts hundreds of shopping, entertainment and dining options, including more than 600 stores and 150 restaurants and bars. The Toronto Eaton Centre boasts nearly 300 stores offering brand name fashion, accessories, home décor and gift shops. Other shopping centres include the Atrium on Bay, College Park, and Hundson’s Bay Company, all with connection to PATH, the underground walkway system. Attractions include Mackenzie House, the home of Toronto’s first mayor William Lyon Mackenzie, Old City Hall and Olympic Spirit, a tribute to the winter and summer games. Yonge-Dundas Square is a public space which hosts concerts, events and celebrations. Recently, colourful 35-foot-tall traffic poles have been added to the area to mark major streets (Queen, College, and Gerrard streets.) Downtown Yonge runs from Richmond Street north to Grosvenor Street and from Bay Street to areas just east of Yonge Street.
