My Favourite Vancouver Photo Contest. Simply send us a photograph that you have taken of something that you love about Vancouver to be eligible to win a $400 gift card from Best Buy.

We're looking for photos that are iconic images of our great city--images that represent or evoke the city, its spirit and its unique character.

To enter, simply fill out the form below AND send us your photo in JPEG format to vancouver contest@where.ca by Wednesday December 31st. In the email, make sure you include the following in the subject line: photo contest [photo title], [your first name and your last name].

The "Where My Favourite Vancouver Photo Contest" is a contest run by Where Vancouver. All questions regarding the contest rules should be directed to vancouvercontest@where.ca at 2208 Spruce Street, Vancouver, BC, V6H 2P3.

1. Photos submitted to the Where 'My Favourite Vancouver Photo Contest' (hereafter known as “contest”) become the property of Where Vancouver/ St. Joseph Media. By submitting a photo entry to the contest, and in consideration of the opportunity to win Prize(s), you agree to give Where Vancouver/ St. Joseph Media full print and digital publication rights in perpetuity for any and all submitted photos. Should Where Vancouver/ St. Joseph Media use your photo in a print or digital publication, a photo credit will be given to the photographer.

2. There will be a grand prize of a $400 Gift Card from Best Buy. The winner will be announced on May 1, 2009. Winning photographs will be chosen by a panel of three judges consisting of the Art Director, Editor and Publisher of Where Vancouver. Photographs will be judged on aesthetic quality, originality, and appropriateness of theme. Identifying information will be removed/excluded from photos during the judging process to ensure impartiality.

3. In addition to awarded prize(s), Where Vancouver may publish winning photos in Where Vancouver & www.where.ca/vancouver, with credit to the winning photographer, provided that the image meets the aesthetic, editorial and moral standards of the magazine, as determined and mutually agreed upon by the Art Director, Editor and Publisher of Where Vancouver. Should a winning photo be deemed inappropriate for publication, Where Vancouver is not obliged to publish the photo, but the prize will still be awarded.

4. Persons are allowed to enter multiple times, provided each image is an original photo taken by entrant. No purchase is necessary. Eligible persons may enter by completing and submitting an original entry form available online at www.where.ca/vancouver/, AND by submitting each photo via email to vancouvercontest@where.ca

5. Where Vancouver is not responsible for any entries, which are incomplete, lost, stolen, destroyed, delayed, or not transmitted due to technical failure, whatever the cause.

6. In the event that a selected entrant does not comply with these Contest Rules and Regulations, or cannot be contacted within two weeks of his/her selection, an alternate entrant will be selected from the remaining entries. The prizes must be accepted as awarded, are non-transferable and cannot be redeemed for cash. Where Vancouver reserves the right to substitute any portion of the prize with a prize of equal value. All federal, provincial and municipal taxes are the sole responsibility of the winner.

7. This contest is open to all residents of Canada, 19 years of age or older, excluding Quebec residents, employees of St. Joseph Corporation and St. Joseph Media, in addition to their respective interactive, advertising and promotional agencies, persons with whom any of the above are domiciled and/or members of their respective immediate families.

8. The entrant selected for the Grand Prize may be required to correctly answer a time limited skill testing question before being declared a prize winner. Where Vancouver assume no responsibility for the participation in the contest, or any liability, claims, demands, actions, loss, damage or personal injury that may be sustained by the winner of the Grand Prize.

9. Participation in the contest constitutes permission to Where Vancouver to use the name, photograph and/or likeness of the winner (and his/her guest) purposes of promotion, advertising, and trade without further compensation.

10. By participating in this contest, all entrants agree to be bound by these Rules and Regulations. The decisions of the contest judges are final. Where Vancouver are not responsible for any typographical error in the printing, the offering or the administration of the contest. The contest is ongoing, but Where Vancouver reserves the right to withdraw or terminate the contest at any time without prior notice or to change the rules and regulations. Contact or correspondence will occur only with selected entrants. This contest is subject to all federal, provincial and municipal laws and regulations.
